The Xbox 360 has been out for a while now and a lot of people are enjoying it. Even though the new Xbox One has succeeded it, the game console is still quite popular even to this day.
The beauty about the Xbox game consoles is that you are allowed to use third-party controllers as opposed to Sony’s offering which only allows you to use its proprietary controller.
In this article, I will talk about the Razer Sabertooth. The Razer Sabertooth is originally an Xbox 360 controller but there are reports that this controller can be used on the Xbox One as well.
The Razer Sabertooth is the direct successor to the award-winning Razer Onza. Although the Razer Onza received a lot of awards, it also received a lot of complaints.
Second, the buttons are not tactile for most users. Although you can program some face buttons on other custom buttons built into the controller, the buttons just feel mushy.
Razer has been taking in some of the complaints and they vow to fix them with the new Razer Sabertooth.
Now, let’s talk more about the Razer Sabertooth. I mentioned earlier that one of the complaints about the Onza was that its durability is not that good. The Razer Sabertooth, however, is well-built because it now has a more rugged and durable construction.
Furthermore, all of the face buttons are amazingly tactile and you can really hear each press. It also requires only a little actuation force for the button to register on screen.
One of the major features of the Razer Sabertooth is not its durable construction, but its six programmable buttons.
That’s right, the Razer Sabertooth comes with 6 fully-programmable buttons that you can customize to your preferences. There are 2 extra shoulder buttons and two rocker switches at the back (which you press up or down making it a total of 6 programmable keys).
To help you program the keys, there is an OLED display at the bottom of the controller. All you have to do is press the switch on the left side of the OLED display until you reach the “Program Mode”.
Once in this mode, just hold the programmable button you wish to customize and then tap the face button you want to bind it to. After that, the controller will rumble to signify that the customization was successful and that’s it!
Aside from customizing the controls, there are also other things you can do with the controller. You can see if the thumbsticks have been optimized; you can also toggle between two different profiles, and you can also adjust the sensitivity of your thumbsticks according to your liking.
The Razer Sabertooth is a robust, durable, and highly-programmable for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers. Whether you play fighting games or FPS games, the Razer Sabertooth’s got you covered.
